“Our excitement about our new location, drive up teller and drive up ATM is magnified by the special offers we will be sharing with new and current customers. Frankly, they’re the best we’ve ever seen for consumer and business checking,” said William S. Clark, Hometown Bank President and CEO.

“Perhaps the most unusual, if not unique consumer offer is Free Checking PLUS Interest. We are having great fun with our special interest yield of 4.19 % APY on that account for all daily balances over $1,000 until November 1. Businesses are also excited about trying our checking accounts with no fees for monthly service or activity until October 1.” “We think the turnout will be big as consumers realize the value of this account which also lets the customer choose a full gamut of electronic services when they sign up for direct deposit. We’ll be offering them free access to more bank ATMs than any other bank in the Valley. They can use any other banks’ ATMs for cash or balance inquiry 3 times a month with NO foreign transaction fee and a refund, upon request, of any convenience charge the other banks make up to $2 per transaction,” Clark noted. The special offers will be available at all Hometown Bank offices during the Grand Opening celebration for the 419 & Colonial Office.

Ribbon Cutting
As has become HomeTown Bank’s custom, ribbon cutting will be done by representatives of civic/charitable and educational organizations. Each of their organizations will receive a $500 voucher to fund the opening of a charitable checking account at HomeTown Bank which currently pays from 1.00% to 2.50% APY. Participating in the 9 AM Ribbon Cutting Ceremony on April 12 will be:

  • Kim Williamson, Director of Development of North Cross School
  • Dorothy Runion, Executive Director, Roanoke Wildlife Rescue
  • Bobby Jones, Chief, Back Creek Fire & Rescue
  • Robert Perdue, Chief, Cave Spring Volunteer Fire Department

Representing Roanoke County government will be Michael A. Wray, member of the board of Supervisors who will have brief remarks and participate in the ribbon cutting.

Grand Prizes
The bank is also offering a Grand Prize drawing at its new 419 & Colonial location. The winner will get his/her choice of a beautiful Roberto Coin diamond necklace from Fink’s, a Randall-Allen all leather wing chair recliner from Grand Home Furnishings, or a half day of business system consulting from Entré Computer Center.

Open 65 Hours a Week
“The convenience of the Southwest County banking customer is important to us. To prove it, we will be offering full service banking from 7 am to 7 pm weekdays, and 9-2 Saturdays,” said Harper. “Many of the folks who live here have a daily commute. We need to be there for them in the morning as they head into work and in the evenings as they head home. Importantly, we will have a mortgage lending specialist right at this office to serve those who are buying a new home or planning to do so.”
