HomeTown Bank has acquired property at the intersection of Colonial Avenue and Electric Road, across from North Cross School, and intends to remove two existing buildings and construct a two-story building to house a branch and its mortgage operation. The building will contain approximately 6,000 square feet. During the period of developing this location, it will open a temporary branch in a third existing building which will be renovated for that purpose. When the main building at this location is completed, the temporary branch will close. It is expected that the temporary branch will open in early 2007 and the permanent branch will open in late 2007.

A South Roanoke branch will be developed at 3515 Franklin Road, which is at the intersection of Franklin Road and Duke of Gloucester Street near Kmart (or across the street from Berglund Sports Utility Center). It is expected that this location will be open for business in Spring 2007. It will be one story and contains 4,000 square feet.

William S. Clark, President and Chief Executive Officer of the Bank, stated that, “Finding a prime location in these two important areas of the Valley has been a difficult task but we feel we have hit a homerun with both locations.” He added, “We look forward to providing our customers convenient locations and developing new banking relationships from businesses and individuals in the South Roanoke and Southwest County area.”

Both buildings will have a similar appearance and are being designed by Bill Hume and Stephen Feather of Interactive Design Group. Hume stated the buildings will be constructed of brick with a green metal roof and will have a traditional but modern appearance.

The main office of HomeTown Bank is located at 202 South Jefferson Street on the corner of Campbell Avenue in downtown Roanoke. The Bank commenced operations at that location in November 2005. HomeTown Bank also operates a branch at Westlake in Franklin County at the intersection of Routes 122 and 616. With the addition of the two branches announced today, HomeTown Bank will operate from four locations within fifteen months of its initial opening.
